The Fitzhugh is an award-winning community newspaper in beautiful Jasper, Alberta – the heart of the Rockies.

It is a young, enthusiastic newsroom in a not-so-average mountain town. (As soon as the rooftop pool is installed we plan to have regular Friday afternoon diving competitions. The Google compound's got nothing on us.)

Working here, you'll want to keep your trail mix close to your camera, tucked safely beside your tickets to the next local gig. We cover stories spanning civic issues, arts and culture, national parks, sports, community and local character.

The Fitzhugh is well-known for its creative approach to layout, its striking photos and its quality reporting. We are looking for a reporter/photographer with a strong sense of community journalism and stellar photography skills.
Qualifications
The successful applicant will have:

•	A degree in journalism or equivalent work experience.
•	Strong writing skills over a variety of beats.
•	Tenacity and professionalism in pursuit of a story.
•	A DSLR and know how to wield it.
•	His or her own vehicle.
•	Experience in web and social media content development.
