Job Title: Overlander Trekking & Tours Hiking guide
Terms of Employment: Seasonal, Full Time, Weekend, Day, Evening
Salary: $12.00 to $15.00 Hourly for 40 hours per week
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Jasper, Alberta (2 vacancies )
Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of high school
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): First Aid Certificate, Wilderness First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate
Experience: Will train
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Guide Specializations: General outdoors guiding
Specific Skills: Escort groups on outdoor sport and recreational trips, Advise on safety and regulations, Plan trips, Practice low impact/no trace land use, Provide outdoor, wilderness and wildlife instruction
Additional Skills: Operate communication (including emergency) devices, Maintain equipment
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Physically demanding, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Standing for extended periods, Walking
Work Site Environment: Outdoors, Wet/damp, Cold/refrigerated
Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's licence
Security and Safety: Driver's validity licence check, Driving record check (abstract)
Essential Skills: Reading text, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Continuous learning
