BANQUET PORTER
Directly reports to Banquet Supervisor/F&B Outlet Manager
Hours of shifts:  approx. 40 per week + overtime as approved by supervisor
Shifts will vary
Keys to success:
Education & Experience                                                                         
Experience in a hotel or a related field is preferred.
Must have high school diploma.

Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly to Team Members and guests.
Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately due to a constantly changing workload as guests change their minds.
Must work well in stressful, high volume setting to meet deadline demands at peak business levels.
Must demonstrate the ability in identifying difficulties and making recommendations for problem solving and efficiency at a moment's notice when a guest asks.
Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues of everyone involved at a group function.
Must have excellent communication and organizational skills to make maximum use of time and energy.
Must enjoy working in a team environment with a strong team. 
Must be able to deal with heavy lifting.
Essential to be very creative and results driven
 
Duties & Functions
Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
Ensure meeting rooms are clean and locked when not in use.
  Ensure that, after each meeting, the rooms are cleaned, charts and tables stored properly, and dirty linen is taken to laundry.
Ensure that storage areas are kept clean and well stocked at all times.
  Ensure that all food and/or beverages are returned to the kitchen.
Set up coffee breaks as required by guests, sometimes with no previous notice.
Ensure that, while on duty, appropriate uniform is clean and pressed and that nametag is worn at all times.
Assists with drink and food service throughout functions
Other duties as assigned by either the Banquet Supervisor or F&B Outlets Manager which can be very diverse due to constant last minute changes.
 
Position Requirements 
- Minimum 3 years related experience. 
- Possess excellent knowledge of restaurant/special event service. 
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills. 
- Excellent communication skills - written and oral. 
- Possess excellent public relations skills. 
- - Ability to lift a moderate amount of weight.
- Ability to train and give direction. 
- Ability to work with minimal supervision. 
- Ability to work within a Team concept.
- 
The major function of this position is to ensure associate and guest satisfaction in all points of contact. Major function is realized by ability to develop and maintain a strong team environment with open communication and motivation to consistently deliver prompt and courteous service. Responsible for guest satisfaction and sales in all outlets/banquets during scheduled shifts. Scheduled to work in outlets or banquets as dictated by business requirements.
