Mission:
To provide detailed, attentive and personalized service which in return creates lasting memories for all our guests. Overview: The Restaurant Manager and Special Events Coordinator must manage all aspects of the day to day operations of the restaurant as well as organize special group events. This individual must collaborate with the General Manager and other department managers to ensure the most efficient and professional service to our guests is provided. Among the skills and traits required are great interpersonal, communication, sales and customer service skills with a strong ability in conflict and problem resolution. We require an energetic individual who is positive, professional and polite and can handle guest complaints or employee concerns in this manner. Organization and attention to detail are paramount.
Duties and Responsibilities;Responsible for the daily operation of the dining room ensuring that guest service is appropriately and professionally executed at all times.Ensure employees comply with Health and Food Safety standards and regulations including the responsible service of alcohol.Train and monitor staff providing coaching and feedback in order to elevate their customer service skills and product knowledge. Demonstrate detailed knowledge of food and beverage including wine. Address any guest complaints regarding food quality or service. Encourage a positive, professional and polite work environment always leading by example. Drive sales to maximize budgeted revenue and motivate team members to do the same.Keep menus up to date and in good repair.Program menus in server point of sale system.Evaluate guest satisfaction levels with a focus on continuous improvement.Maintain an accurate and appropriate level of inventory, conducting monthly inventory counts and replenishing when necessary. Controlling beverage costs by maintaining an organized bar and reducing spillage.Respond to event enquiries, planning in detail conference meetings, weddings and other group gatherings.
Communicating all group event details to each department in a timely and organized manner consistent with our hotel and food and beverage policies and procedures.Working with management, staff and event coordinators to ensure a smooth execution of all events planned and organized in the hotel.Providing invoices and following up on payments, keeping balanced accounts.Be an ambassador for our hotel and surroundings by providing detailed knowledge of the area and its many activities.Demonstrates effective people management and leadership skills.Must be available to work various shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.Qualifications and Skill Requirements;Minimum 2 years in a leadership/management role.Minimum 5 years in food and beverage experience.Banquet/Special events experience an asset.College degree in hospitality/restaurant management an asset. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer programs. Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. Experience in monitoring beverage cost and implementing sales strategies.Ability to handle guest complaints and resolve issues in a professional and courteous manner. Must possess a valid driver's license.
