Description:

Otto's Cache is Jasper's first locally owned café, bakery and curated provisions market. Serving an expertise and craftsmanship of a new era of Jasper hospitality offerings. In Spring 2025, Otto's Cache opened its doors to Jasper National Park. The cafe/bakery focus will be on both dine-in and take-away offerings. Serving specialty coffee, fresh baked goods, sandwiches, salads and a carefully curated al la carte brunch service. The market’s main focus will be providing our community with locally sourced, exciting artisanal provisions, making great food accessible to our community year round. All made possible by local Canadian suppliers.


We’re looking for a Line Cook to join the team, this is an intermediate-level position in a kitchen that assists the chef and other staff with preparing ingredients, assembling dishes, and maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards
Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies and ingredients
Ensure food is cooked to proper temperature, portion, and presentation standards
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work station at all times
Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
Communicate effectively with kitchen team during service
Assist with prep work, including chopping, portioning, and storing ingredients
Monitor food inventory and notify supervisors of shortages
Properly store food and label items according to health regulations
Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, tools, and work areas
Assist with closing duties, including cleaning and restocking
Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

Requirements:

Previous experience as a line cook, prep cook, or similar role (usually 1–3 years)
Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, knife skills, and kitchen equipment
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Experience following recipes and food preparation standards
Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively during service
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in hot conditions
Team-oriented attitude with good communication skills
Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented
Food Safe Certificate an asset
