Summary Of Responsibilities

Reporting to the Emerald Lounge General Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
• Assist the General Manager, Emerald Lounge in leading and managing the day to day operation of the Emerald Lounge, ensuring all service standards are followed
• Assume the General Manager, Emerald Lounge responsibilities and duties during his/her absence
• Drive innovative promotions, menus and concepts; creating a destination of choice for both hotel and external guests
• Utilize effective control of food, beverage, labour, and operating expenses
• Assist in the preparation of the annual strategic plan and achieve the goals and targets therein
• Ensure the implementation of standards in guest service
• Assist the General Manager, Emerald Lounge and Marketing Team with innovative ways to drive business to Emerald Lounge
• Attend meetings with Beverage Representatives to contribute to the overall beverage program
• Oversee and assist in the creation of new seasonal cocktails each quarter
• Responsible for overseeing beverage cost and ensuring it is in line with budget
• Responsible for overseeing the monthly inventory of all glass and barware
• Contribute in the selecting of wines on our master list
• Act as an ambassador for both the hotel and the City to provide Guests with a stronger outlet experience
• Handle Guest concerns and requests in a timely and efficient manner
• Constantly seek out ways to improve product and service, as well as increase volumes and profits
• Assist with the selection, training, and development of all Colleagues to ensure timely recruitment and career growth
• Plays an active role and works with the General Manager, Emerald Lounge during the budgeting process
• Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
• Provides facilities management through ensuring furniture, fixtures, equipment and the dining room is well maintained and clean
• Follow department policies, procedures, and service standards
• Follow all safety policies
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years Food & Beverage leadership experience, preferably in a fast-paced luxury restaurant/bar
• Previous bartending experience required
• Previous point of sale system experience required
• Extensive knowledge of spirits, wine, and beer
• University/College degree in a related discipline preferred
• Previous experience working within a strong cocktail culture an asset with the ability to craft a rotating seasonal cocktail list
• Must be flexible and able to work various shifts
• Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as advanced interpersonal skills to coach and motivate
• Positive attitude and a consistent calm disposition, with the ability to model our high standard of guest service in a fast paced environment
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
