What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Grounds Superintendent, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service. Communicating effectively with Managers & other Supervisors
A passion for Floral Design and presentation
Responsible for all of the floral requirements of the Hotel. This includes but is not limited to the care & maintenance of all indoor plants, seasonal crops & floral requirements for weddings & conferences
Very strong creative instinct to design & create the visions of clients
Assist the CSAC team in selling & promoting floral services, motivated to up-sell ideas to clients to improve on revenues
Ensuring temporary floral helpers are properly trained & supervised to maximize efficiency & colleague satisfaction
Will assist in the maintenance of the greenhouse, flower shop, annual/shrub compound & herb garden
Cleaning, organizing & maintaining flower shop, fridge & storage spaces
Responsible for special seasonal displays & decorations in guest areas & outlets
Responsible for keeping inventory of décor supplies and fixtures on a monthly basis
Order supplies & materials in Birchstreet.
Strong knowledge in excel, word & computer skills in order to create estimates, quotes, presentation & invoicing
Attending Bridal shows & Expos to promote & sell services
Attending Gift shows & trade shows to source new suppliers
Attending Floral courses & seminars to keep up with the trends

Qualifications

Your experience and skills includes:

2 years experience in the Floral Industry is mandatory
Proven ability for flower arranging, specializing in indoor & outdoor plants & decorating
Requires a good understanding and experience in container gardening, plant maintenance, indoor plants
Excellent communication & leadership skills
Individuals who have a desire to excel in the Floral industry & Horticulture industry
Trustworthy, reliable, punctual, responsible & dependable
Preference will be given to colleagues who posses relevant experience (floral design crafts & decorating)
Preference will be given to person who posses (supervisory skills, guest/public contact)
This is a guest contact position & will require the incumbent to meet with Hotel guests and potential Hotel guests who plan on coming to the Hotel, so an impeccable presentation is required
Must be self motivated & work independently
Must possess a Valid Alberta Drivers License
Must be in good physical condition
Must be able to work safely and ensure co-workers are working safely
CPR & First Aid certifications are a asset
Your team and working environment:

Sitting: 0-4 hr/day
Walking: 6-8 hr/day
Standing: 6-8 hr/day
Bending/reaching: 4-8 hr/day
Pushing/pushing: 4-8 hr/day
Physical effort: required to lift up to 40 lbs
Strength and agility to work and operate equipment safely so as not to harm others or the environment
Environmental stress: high – inside/outside
