Heavy Metal Equipment & Rentals is searching for experienced Heavy Equipment Technicians (HETs) specializing in CAT 797 Haul Trucks and Hydraulic Shovels to join our team.

An excellent Contract HET will be:

Able to understand equipment systems to effectively and efficiently determine the necessary route for repairs
A technician who strives to provide the highest levels of service and quality of work with Heavy Metal's best interest at the forefront of all tasks
Highly motivated and self-driven to do their best work every day
Experienced, competent, and able to repair, troubleshoot, adjust, overhaul, and maintain mobile heavy duty equipment

Based in the Alberta Oil Sands (Fort McMurray/Wood Buffalo Region), you’ll work on a 14/14 rotation in a safety-first environment. With 12-hour shifts, alternating sets between days and nights, you’ll rack up 80 regular hours and 88 overtime hours per rotation.

What We’re Looking For:

A desire to make a difference and take pride in your work
Red Seal or Journeyman Certification (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of hands-on experience with large mining equipment (CAT, Komatsu, John Deere, Hitachi)
Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Superior mechanical aptitude
Commitment to safety and teamwork
Able to pass a respiratory fit test, meet fitness standards, and handle 50 lbs
Clean Driver's Abstract and Advanced Class 5 License with Air Brakes
