We have a brand-new, state-of-the-art, 100,000-square-foot facility in Fort McKay!! This impressive facility features 21 additional bays - dedicated to maintenance, welding, and wash services – plus a new warehouse – all designed to streamline the daily maintenance and repair of our heavy equipment and light vehicle fleet.

The Job:

The Facilities Supervisor manages daily building operations, maintenance, and staff to ensure a safe, functional, and compliant environment. This includes overseeing repairs, asset management, preventative maintenance, vendor coordination, safety protocols, budget adherence, and staff supervision for tasks involving building systems, yards, and infrastructure, thereby bridging technical needs with administrative duties.

Based in the Alberta Oil Sands (Fort McMurray/Wood Buffalo Region), you’ll work 14/14 rotation in a safety-first environment. Shifts are 12 hours long, starting at 6:45.

As a Facilities Supervisor, you will be expected to:

Safety & Compliance:

Adhere to, promote, and enforce all company, contractual, legislated, and client safety initiatives and conduct inspections.
Operations and Maintenance:

Oversee daily upkeep, repairs, and scheduled preventative maintenance for buildings, grounds, and equipment.
Building Systems: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing & Water and Fire Suppression

Yard & Infrastructure: Fueling Stations, Compressed Air Systems, Steam and Welding Bays, Snow & Ice Management

Maintenance & Asset Management: Preventative Maintenance, Vendor Coordination, Spill Response, Waste Management, Inspections

Leadership and Management:

Lead, train, schedule, and delegate tasks to teams, including janitorial and technical staff, process timecards, and manage overtime.
Strong people management skills (leading maintenance crews, trades, and contractors)
Ability to collaborate with operations, Human Resources, and safety teams
Strong ability to problem-solve and make decisions in high-pressure, safety-sensitive environments
Vendor Management:

Coordinate and contract with external vendors and skilled trades for specialized repairs or projects.
Budget & Administration:

Manage budgets, track expenses, maintain facility records, order supplies, and prepare reports
Project Coordination:

Oversee minor renovations, facility upgrades, and installation projects
What We Need From YOU:

A desire to make a difference and take pride in your work
Post-secondary education in Facility Management, Building Operations, and/or Engineering, Certified Facility Manager (CFM), or BOMA
A minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities, property, or asset management, ideally in industrial, heavy equipment, or energy sectors
Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale, multi-site facilities (i.e. equipment, yards, repair shops, offices, warehouses, and possibly camp accommodations)
Experience with Maintenance Planning and preventative and corrective maintenance programs
Experience with Environmental Compliance (waste management, spill response, water systems, emissions reporting)
Experience with Fleet/Yard integration, coordinating facility needs with heavy equipment operations (fueling, staging, maintenance shops)
Demonstrated ability with strong people management skills – leading maintenance crews, trades, and contractors
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly with Excel (spreadsheets and cost models) and PowerPoint (presentations)
Exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, and good with numbers
Able work under pressure in a demanding environment and meet tight deadlines
Strong commitment to safety and quality of work
Strong ethics and compliance with rules and regulations
Collaborative communication style at all levels of the organization, demonstrating an open, honest, and consistent approach to working with others
Excellent Customer Service skills
