Position: Server

Type: Full Time, Seasonal (Summer)

Location: Saddle Mountain Restaurant, Blue River, BC

Reports to: Front of House Assistant Manager

Objective:

To provide customers with information about the menu and their surroundings. Must have a good attitude and provide prompt, attentive service. This is a demanding task in a dynamic work environment and requires strong organizational skills. Guest satisfaction is our number one objective.

Responsibilities:
Maintain familiarity with the composition of all menu items.
Serve food and beverages in accordance with laid-down standards in a professional, courteous manner.
Receive food orders and process payments at the counter.
Prepare specialty coffee.
Clean designated areas, in accordance with procedures, morning/evening routines and hygiene requirements.
Ensure sideboards on stations are adequately stocked with replacement cutlery, linen, food, or equipment.
Clean tables in a timely manner.
Provide excellent customer service.
Maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene and dress.


Qualifications:
Serving experience (6 months+).
Serving it Right certification.
Foodsafe certification.
Basic working knowledge of hospitality industry principles, methods, practices, and techniques.
Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
Knowledge of a second language is an asset.


Working Conditions :
This position will spend 100% of the time standing.
Occasional environmental exposures to cold heat and water.
Must be able to transport up to 50 pounds on occasion and up to 35 pounds regularly.
Will be constantly exposed to high temperatures in the kitchen environment.
Manual dexterity required to use knives and kitchen appliances.
