Wage: $17–$20+ (Based on Experience) + (Hourly Gratuities)

Hours: Full-Time & Part-Time

About Otto's Cache:

Otto's Cache is Jasper's first locally owned café, bakery and curated provisions market. Serving an expertise and craftsmanship of a new era of Jasper hospitality offerings. In Spring 2025, Otto's Cache opened its doors to Jasper National Park. The cafes focus is on serving high quality and attention to detail on both dine-in and take-away offerings. Such as Australian style specialty coffee and brunch, fresh bakery items, fresh bread, sandwiches and salads. The market’s main focus will be providing our community with locally sourced, exciting artisanal provisions, making great food accessible to our community year round. All made possible by local Canadian suppliers.


Role Overview:

We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking Prep Cook / Dishwasher to join our team. This position supports the kitchen by preparing ingredients, assisting cooks, and keeping the kitchen clean and organized. It’s ideal for someone eager to grow their skills in a fast-paced kitchen environment and gain experience in multiple aspects of café operations.


Key Responsibilities:

Prep Cook Duties:

Prepare ingredients for menu items, including washing, chopping, measuring, and portioning
Assist cooks and chefs with basic prep and assembly tasks
Set up and stock workstations with necessary ingredients and supplies
Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment
Maintain clean and organized dishwashing and prep areas
Assist with garbage disposal, recycling, and general kitchen cleaning
Support closing duties, including cleaning and restocking
Properly store and label ingredients and food items according to health regulations
Monitor inventory and notify supervisors of shortages
Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Contribute to a positive, team-oriented workplace

Requirements:

Previous experience in a kitchen or food service role preferred, but not required
Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and knife skills (for prep tasks)
Ability to follow directions and multitask
Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in hot conditions
Dependable, detail-oriented, and team-focused
Food Safe Certificate is an asset
