Who can
To be considered for employment under the student employment programs, the student must be:
A full-time post-secondary student in an accredited institution
Registered as a full-time student in a recognized institution (College, University, etc.)
Preference will be given to civil or mechanical engineering students.
Returning to full-time studies in the next academic term (fall 2026).
Proof of full-time student status will be required. The proof of full-time enrollment must include the student's official name, name of the educational institution and identify clearly the full-time enrollment status. The following are recognized as proof of full-time enrollment: Proof of registration with or without registrar's seal, proof of tuition, and proof of student status. A list of registered classes is not considered a proof of full-time enrollment. If the proof of full-time status cannot be obtained immediately, students can fill out and submit the Statement of intent to return to full-time studies until proof can be obtained.

Duties
The Engineering Student will provide assistance to Project Managers, which may include the following tasks:
Field truthing for designs and implementation of projects
Creation of asset data bases
Mapping of utilities and facilities
Inspections and scheduling of granular material deliveries

The Jasper Field Unit is comprised of Jasper National Park and Fort St. James National Historic Site (NHS), with staff located in Jasper, Alberta and Fort St. James, British Columbia. The Field Unit Superintendent is located in Jasper. In addition to Fort St. James NHS, the Field Unit is also responsible for five other national historic sites located within Jasper National Park: The Jasper Park Information Centre NHS, Athabasca Pass NHS, Yellowhead Pass NHS, Jasper House NHS and the Maligne Lake Chalet and Guest House NHS.
Due to the location of Parks Canada’s heritage places, we work with a wide diversity of Indigenous peoples across the country. Of the lands and waters in our care, more than three quarters of these are managed with the support of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. The Youth Employment and Skills Strategy Program (YESS) is a Federal Government jobs initiative targeted at young Canadians aged 15 to 30.
