(NOC 72204 – Telecommunications line and cable installers and repairers)

Canadian Network Installations, CNI, has been a proud national vendor partner supporting telecommunication Carriers across Canada for over 25 years. CNI offers infrastructure support, solutions, and network build in both wired and wireless sectors across Canada. We are currently recruiting individuals who possess the skill, attitude, and passion to join a growing team in the Greater Alberta area excluding Banff–Jasper–Rocky Mountain House Region as a Telecommunication Rigger. The position requires an individual who embraces CNI’s culture of maintaining and providing our clients a high level of quality, service, and safety standards.

Requirements:

Experience working on communication and transmission towers
Experience in installation, alignment and testing of microwave hops is an asset
Telecommunication construction or rigging experience is a must
Rappelling and high angle rescue training is an asset
Have a valid first aid training
Able and willing to work out of town for extended period of time
Able and willing to work at heights
Working evenings, weekends and on-call if required
Valid Driver’s License with a clean Driver’s Abstract
Ability to operate a vehicle and trailer safely
Clean Criminal Background check
Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs without assistance
Ability to climb to heights up to 500 feet safely
Ability to work at heights for extended periods of time in all types of weather
Skills and Responsibilities:

Build communication towers and rooftops
Install, remove, and maintain various types of telecommunication antennas, DC cables, fiber optic cables, including coaxial cables
Test, troubleshoot and repair transmission lines and cables for possible fault
Utilize and operate various test equipment, i.e.- sweep gear, PIM and OTDR
Climb and work on poles, towers, and ladders or other support structures up to 500 feet
