Grooming, Snowcat Operator

Reports to

Grooming Supervisor

Position Overview
The Grooming/Snowcat Operator works as part of the Grooming and Snowmaking team. They are responsible for operating machinery to assist in the maintenance of mountain terrain, trails and runs. They are responsible for dealing with or reporting any mechanical issues and keeping the machinery clean.


The Mountain Operations department is hiring several positions for Grooming needs. This includes Grades 1, 2, & 3 operators acting in FT and PT capactities. The role works evenings and overnight. A compressed work week agreement is in place.

Alberta Employment Standards regarding probationary periods apply.


Qualifications

Mechanical Background
Previous operating experience
Winch cat experience
Ski Industry experience an asset
Able to work flexible shifts
Able to work in a safe and efficient manner
Able to work outside in any, all and sometimes adverse weather conditions
Minimum class 5 license.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Complete all assigned grooming runs as per daily instructions provided by the Grooming Supervisor
Complete daily checks and maintain cleanliness of machinery
Report equipment concerns to the Grooming Supervisor
Adhere to all Safety Policies and Procedures. Identify and report hazardous machinery, terrain or activities where self or others may be at risk of injury
Deliver excellent customer service to internals and externals contacts at all times, thereby enhancing Marmot Basin’s reputation as a positive Guest Experience provider.
