Employment Type: Seasonal

Position Summary

The Rental & Retail Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the Rental Shop, Retail and Town Stores, Online Retail, Staff Scheduling and Guest Services. This position plays a key leadership role in staff supervision, customer service excellence, inventory management, and operational efficiency. Reporting to the Rental & Retail Manager and Director of Skiing, the Supervisor ensures alignment with departmental goals and service standards.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Staff Management

Supervise and mentor the Rental & Retail Staff across all locations
Assist with onboarding, training, and performance reviews
Coordinate scheduling and shift planning to ensure adequate staffing levels
Foster a positive team culture with a focus on accountability, collaboration, and guest experience
Address and resolve staff performance issues and customer escalations professionally
Oversee daily payroll review and approval in collaboration with the Manager
Rental & Retail Operations

Ensure smooth daily operations in the Rental Shop, Town Store, and on-mountain retail spaces
Oversee inventory control: ordering, receiving, pricing, merchandising, and loss prevention
Monitor the use and maintenance of rental equipment and coordinate repair schedules
Ensure compliance with all safety protocols (WHMIS, WCB) and operational procedures
Optimize sales floor organization and product presentation in line with seasonal trends
Guest Experience & Sales Performance

Maintain high service standards and model exemplary guest interactions
Support the team in resolving guest concerns and troubleshooting transactions or bookings
Monitor sales performance
Systems & Administration

Use RTP, Inntopia, and Aspenwear for reporting, troubleshooting, and operational updates
Support accurate tracking of product movement, rentals, and inventory reports
Liaise with IT and accounting teams on POS issues, audits, or payment discrepancies
Maintain and update documentation including SOPs, training manuals, and policy references
Cross-Functional Coordination

Coordinate with departments including Ski School, Guest Services, Maintenance, and Mountain Ops
Assist with the planning and setup of retail displays and promotional events at seasonal outlets
Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in retail, rentals, or hospitality (required)
Post-secondary education in business, tourism, or related field (asset)
Proficient in POS systems such as RTP, Inntopia, Aspenwear, or similar platforms
Experience with inventory management, staff scheduling, and sales analysis
Ski/snowboard equipment knowledge and rental operations experience (required)
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, and team communication platforms
