What will be your daily pursuit?:
The Maligne Lake and Canyon gift shops are renowned in the Rockies for their eclectic offerings of quality goods and clothing. This is a sales-oriented leadership position with a focus on team member support and coaching, proactive guest interaction, hospitality and product knowledge. In this “hands on” leadership support role, you will oversee the daily sales operation of either the Maligne Lake or Maligne Canyon Wilderness Kitchen gift shops.

Compensation:
The starting salary for this position is $19.50.

What will you do in this job?:
Train, support and coach retail team members in the proactive sales of our retail merchandise
Ensure a memorable and positive experience for our guests and staff through implementing and delivering the standard operating policies and procedures as they relate to our hospitality, retail operations, safety and employee engagement standards and practices
Ensure stores are adequately stocked for the day and merchandise displays are maintained and organized throughout the operating day
Providing leadership and accountability to team members as to meeting expectations of their role
Assist with scheduling and managing daily staffing resources to expected business volumes
Work closely with the merchandise inventory team as to product count accuracy and safeguards
Responsible for daily cash handling practices and safeguards, including proper use of POS stations, cash floats, change orders and cash outs
Keeping the sales floor and storage areas clean and organized
Directly support retail agents in any service recovery issues that may arise reporting larger issues to management
What skills and experience do you need for this job?:
Some previous leadership and cash handling experience required
Experience working in retail and use of point-of-sale systems
A passion for coaching and developing employees with a proven track record of “safety 1st practices
A strong hospitality-focused approach with a natural ability to proactively listen to and understand guest needs
Mature, energetic, dependable and self-motivated team player with a high attention to detail
Ability to take initiative and follow through on tasks needing attention
Adaptable to a changing work environment and different tasks
Enthusiastic and outgoing personality, ability to use this to engage with guests and team members
A self-starter who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Competent administrative skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods of time in both an indoor and outdoor environment. Be prepared for all season weather (snow, rain, wind, hail)
Must meet the organization grooming and appearance standards
