General Responsibilities Supervise and manage all maintenance operations for the hotel property, ensuring safe, efficient, and well-maintained facilities at all times Coordinate daily maintenance activities with the Hotel Manager and other department leaders to minimize guest impact and support hotel operations Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to Maintenance Workers, ensuring high standards of workmanship and service Assume full responsibility for Maintenance Workers on assigned shifts, including performance oversight and task completion Prepare work schedules for Maintenance Workers and ensure adequate coverage, including weekends, holidays, and peak periods Participate in and support an on-call rotation, responding to after-hours maintenance emergencies as required Assist with the maintenance, inspection, and upkeep of all Pursuit company vehicles Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of all staff housing units Assist in planning and coordinating property renovations, capital projects, and major repairs Perform, track, and communicate preventative maintenance programs for guest rooms, public spaces, back-of-house areas, and building systems Maintain accurate documentation through maintenance logs, work order systems, and compliance records Maintain AHS standards with pool and water testing Ensure thorough knowledge of and compliance with fire safety procedures, life-safety systems, and emergency response protocols Ensure safe work practices are followed; train staff on workplace safety policies and participate in safety initiatives Perform and train staff in the full scope of Maintenance Worker duties as required Assist with major repairs to guest rooms, mechanical systems, and other hotel facilities Support payroll accuracy and labor control for the Maintenance Department Perform seasonal exterior maintenance including landscaping, snow removal, and parking lot cleaning Maintain frequent interaction with coworkers, management, and guests in a professional and service-oriented manner Report to the Director of Facilities and complete all projects and tasks as assigned • O ther duties as assigned On-Call Responsibilities Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to emergency maintenance issues outside of regular working hours Assess, troubleshoot, and resolve urgent issues impacting guest safety, comfort, or hotel operations Coordinate emergency repairs with external contractors when required Selection Criteria The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a related maintenance or hotel engineering field, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, pool treatment, and painting Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of building systems Proven ability to train, supervise, and provide direction to staff Ability to perform administrative duties, including scheduling, documentation, and basic computer use Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and act decisively Excellent interpersonal, communication, and guest-service skills Knowledge of tools and their proper use (tools provided) Ability to manage competing priorities, large workloads, and tight timelines Flexibility to work varied shifts (e.g., 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.) and participate in an on-call rotation Valid Alberta driver’s license required About Us: We're more than a hospitality and attractions company.
