Journeyperson Plumber (Full Time Permanent)

As a Plumber at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge your care and attention to detail will ensure that our guests have a memorable stay in the Canadian Rockies.

Rate of Pay: $36.22 per hour.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Chief Engineer and Assistant Director of Engineering, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
Follow departmental policies, procedures and service standards
Responsible for all plumbing related trade work at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge
Responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of all plumbing systems
Preventative maintenance of equipment pertaining to plumbing
Ensure all work done in the plumbing department is in compliance with federal and provincial codes and regulations
Ensure all power tools are in good and safe working conditions
Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule based on volume of business
Train and assist the shift maintenance colleagues
Assist other trades as they relate to plumbing maintenance
Communicate effectively and professionally with both guests and colleagues
Adhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles
Other duties as assigned
Your experience and skills include:

High school and/or technical school education required
Provincial Journeyperson’s certificate for Province of Alberta required
Background plumbing experience or general knowledge of the trade required
Level 1 Pool Certification as an asset
Proficient in Microsoft Windows applications required ( Word, Excel & Power Point )
Gas Fitting Ticket an asset
Valid Alberta driver’s license required
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
Highly responsible & reliable
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Sitting: 4-8 hr/day

Bending/reaching: 4-8 hr/day
Pushing/pulling: 4-8 hr/day
Physical effort: high – must be able to lift up to 100 lbs
Environmental Stress: busy atmosphere, working inside and outside
Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
