Full job description
We are a seasonal property seeking a highly organised and reliable Office Assistant to work directly as the assistant to Bookkeeper / Office Manager. This role supports day-to-day office operations, financial controls, and selected operational tasks across the property. It is ideal for someone who enjoys responsibility, structure, and being a key support person within a busy seasonal operation.

Key Responsibilities

Office Support

Assistant to the Bookkeeper / Office Manager
Support daily office operations including reporting, filing, data entry, and administrative follow-up
Prepare, check, and distribute daily management reports
Maintain and update the daily labour and payroll workbook
Daily Cash Counting and assisting with property-wide cash controls
Maintain the master cash float and prepare bank deposits
Handle change orders and cash floats for the Front Desk, Gift Shop, and Restaurant

Gift Shop & Receiving

Manage gift shop invoicing and commission tracking
Coordinate and complete gift shop shipping
Oversee property-wide receiving
Assist with receiving documentation and internal distribution

Driving & Operational Support

Complete scheduled town runs (e.g. water sample drop, recycling, post office pickups/drop-offs)
Assist with staff transportation and approved staff activities, including driving staff to town or to hiking and recreational activities
Be prepared for:
Full office days, and
Split days (office duties in the morning and staff driving/activities in the evening



Driving duties are expected to remain secondary to office responsibilities and will be scheduled accordingly.


Schedule

5 days on / 2 days off
Days off, Tuesday and Wednesday
Must work weekends to cover Bookkeeper / Office Manage

Requirements & Qualifications

Minimum age: 25 years old
Valid Canadian driver’s licence with a clean driving record
Comfortable and responsible driving up to 10 staff members at a time
Administrative or bookkeeping experience is an asset; strong willingness to learn required
Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
High level of confidentiality and trustworthiness (financial handling required)
Ability to use initiative, manage time effectively, and support a fast-paced seasonal operation

Compensation & Benefits

Wage: $17/hour + bonus
Completion Bonus:
$1/hour bonus for every hour worked upon successful completion of contract
Additional bonus to offset staff accommodation costs
Staff Accommodation: Available for employees over 18 at $4.41/day
Referral Bonus: $500 if both your contract and your referral’s contract are complete
