Reports To: Rental and Repair Shop Supervisor/ Snow Sports Director

Position Overview
The Assistant Rental Supervisor works as part of the Rental and Repair Shop team. They are primarily responsible for assisting and filling in for the Rental Supervisor and reporting any staff issues or concerns back to the Supervisor in a timely manner. They are also responsible for performing all duties/tasks outlined in the Rental Attendant job description. This position will greet and assist customers in a manner that models exemplary conduct to other staff. As the Assistant Rental Supervisor, you will help organize and operate the rental shop, coordinating with other departments such as group sales, guest services, snow school, and ticket sales.

This is a full-time seasonal role (November/December through May), 5 days out of 7 per week.

Alberta Employment Standards regarding probationary periods apply.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Track rental team progress throughout the day
Help coordinate departmental activities and operations
Lead by example to build departmental commitment to high standards of customer service
Ensure staff greet and assist all Marmot Basin patrons with enthusiasm, in a pleasant and courteous way
Ensure all customer complaints are addressed and handled professionally, leaving the customer with a positive resolution
Help train employees in company policies, procedures, products, and sales techniques
Support shop operational activities, such as inventory, products flow, cash-outs, and shop upkeep
Supervise the activities of Rental Attendants
Adhere to the company’s policies and procedures as set in the Rentals Training Manual
Provide feedback to Rental Supervisor on employee performance
Administer disciplinary action as required
Ensure all work-related activities follow Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation as it relates to the job
Perform other duties as assigned.

Understand and adhere to Ski Marmot Basin’s “Harassment Policy” and the company’s “Privacy Policy”.
Qualifications:
Previous rental shop experience preferred (industry related if possible)
Previous supervisory experience preferred
Demonstrated customer service skills
Demonstrated problem solving skills
Knowledgeable and experienced on Microsoft office suite
Knowledgeable in performance management principles and practices
Well-groomed and professional appearance appropriate to Marmot Basin Policies
Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
Core Competencies:
Able to lead and supervise a team and to skillfully deliver Corrective Action to deal with performance, policy or procedure non-compliance by subordinates
Professional deportment with excellent customer service skills: experience dealing with all on-hill patrons
Cheerful, outgoing personality; demonstrated temperament and disposition for stressful situations or irate customers.

Self-aware; able to identify strengths and gaps in own abilities and training
Able to use taught skills and previous experience to problem solve
Recreational mountain pursuits, such as rock climbing, and ski touring, are considered assets.
