What will you do in this job?:
The Maligne Lake and Canyon gift shops are renowned in the Rockies for their eclectic offerings of quality goods and clothing. This is a sales-oriented position with a focus on proactive guest interaction, hospitality, and product knowledge for both retail and our other Pursuit services.

Sales associates are responsible for:

Upholding our high standards of hospitality, merchandising, and display
Providing exceptional hospitality to our guests in the form of in-depth product knowledge and general retail assistance
Keeping the sales floor and storage areas clean and organized
Applying upselling and cross selling techniques to meet weekly, monthly and annual sales targets
Working closely with the retail inventory team to ensure all product counts and merchandizing are being effectively and accurately accounted for
Upholding the high standard of environmental stewardship expected for all employees
Restocking the sales floor, ensuring all product displays are to expected levels of presentation and for anticipated business volume
Taking a genuine interest in the guest and identifying needs
Operating the point-of-sale system with accuracy and efficiency
Responsible handling of cash, credit cards and completion of cash out procedures
What skills and experience do you need for this job?:
Previous retail experience an asset
Hospitality-oriented mindset and a passion for delivering memorable experiences
Mature, energetic, dependable and self-motivated
Enjoy working with a diverse team in a busy, fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills
Second language an asset
Enthusiastic and out-going personality, ability to use this to engage with guests
Cash handling experience
Able to take initiative on restocking, re-merchandising, and regular cleaning duties
Must meet the organization grooming and appearance standards

Busy. You need to be prepared for a physical working environment with walking, stair climbing, bending, reaching, lifting (up to 50 pounds with assistance) required
