Jasper Junior/Senior High is a dual-track (English and French Immersion) school located in Jasper, Alberta which resides in the Grande Yellowhead Public School Division. A junior/senior high school providing excellent education in English and French to approximately 225 students in grades 7-12. Role and Responsibilities The successful candidate will be a collaborative person with proficiency in the use of educational technology and have an understanding of assessment for learning. The responsibilities include: Providing instruction to promote high quality student-centered learning. Designing and preparing lessons based on curriculum and following a variety of methodology in teaching and instructing students, including lectures, demonstrations and discussions. Facilitating inclusive educational practices to maximize educational opportunities for all students. Reviewing and evaluating each student's performance, knowledge and skills and meeting all reporting and assessment deadlines. Adhering to provincial legislation, board policy and division administrative procedures. Developing constructive relationships with parents. Modelling commitment to professional development. Assignment Details The successful candidate will focus on developing and delivering educational content for high school Math and Sciences, specifically targeting the Alberta curriculum at the 20-1, 20-2, 30-1, and 30-2 levels. Requirements The successful candidate will: Possess an Alberta Teaching Certificate or be eligible for one. Have experience in following the Teaching Quality Standard (TQS) and infusing literacy across the curriculum. Hold a Bachelors degree of Education. The Division Grande Yellowhead School Division (GYPSD) stretches from Jasper National Park, east to Evansburg, south of Cadomin, and northwest to Grande Cache. The jurisdiction includes 17 schools, 5 Learning Connection Centres, approximately 5000 students and 600 staff. The Division is governed by seven elected Trustees. The Boards four main priorities are: Student Learning Teaching and Leadership Excellence Community Engagement System Health and Wellness GYPSD schools offer a broad range of JK-12 programs. Principals focus on strong instructional leadership using generative dialogue to support teacher growth and supervision.
