Aqua Diversities Inc. is a small, dynamic company offering advanced water and wastewater equipment and operations services and solutions. We are seeking a Water and Wastewater Plant Operator with excellent technical and mechanical aptitude to support the operation of the water and wastewater facilities at the
Columbia Icefield Resort in Jasper National Park for the 2022 Season. This location offers unparalleled access to Canada’s premier outdoor recreational opportunities in the Rockies. If you are a qualified Operator, interested in meaningful work experience and real, hands-on training across all aspects of water and wastewater treatment, this is the opportunity for you.

Significant training in advanced water and wastewater treatment technology will be provided. Job responsibilities will include the safe operation of plant equipment, setting and monitoring chemical feed rates, operating the collection and distribution systems, monitoring the process computer, performing established water quality tests and reporting to operations management. You will also update and maintain documentation, logs and other records pertaining to tests and processes, correct minor operating problems and perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

Qualified candidates will possess the following qualifications and experience:

Relevant experience in water and/or wastewater systems required;
Water and Wastewater Treatment, Distribution and Collection Certificates considered an asset
Level 1 Water and Wastewater Treatment Certificates
Level 1 Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection considered an asset
Are a current student of OR have successfully attained Water Quality Technology Diploma OR a similar recognized qualification
Grade 12/ GED
Valid Class 5 Motor Vehicle Operator’s License
The ideal candidate will also demonstrate strong initiative, professional communication skills, analytical and troubleshooting skills and the ability to work well alone and in a team environment Proficiency in Microsoft
Office products, including Excel, Word and Outlook is required. You must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position. Mechanical aptitude is a key skill for this position.

Role requirements:

Hours: Average 40 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime based on demands
Wage: Base rate of up to $35 per hour based on tickets and experience
Term of employment: Mid June to End of October, with possibility of extension, full time work/recurring
Living arrangement: The successful candidate will work and live on site at the Columbia Icefield for the season. Room and board is included. $300 Recreation allowance.
