What will be your daily pursuit?:
The maintenance foreperson plays a key leadership role within the Jasper Lodging maintenance team, responsible for the performance, maintenance, and reliability of all mechanical, HVAC, gas, and building envelope systems across multiple resort hotel properties and guest attractions. Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the maintenance foreperson will oversee critical infrastructure systems, supports capital projects, and lead the maintenance operations to ensure all facilities are safe, efficient, and maintained to the highest standard.

The ideal candidate will be a Red Seal HVAC Technician with a Class A Gasfitter license (we are open to any other RED SEAL tickets), demonstrating deep technical knowledge, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to operate across complex, multi-property environments.

What will you do in this job?:
Lead the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of all HVAC, plumbing, gas, boiler, hydronic, and mechanical systems.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements related to mechanical and gas systems.
Diagnose and troubleshoot complex system issues across multiple sites, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal guest comfort.
Oversee the execution of preventive maintenance schedules across all properties, ensuring system longevity and energy efficiency.
Manage response to maintenance work orders, ensuring timely resolution, accurate documentation, and communication with stakeholders.
Lead inspections and upkeep of building envelope systems, including roofing, exterior cladding, windows, insulation, and related structural elements.
Support (and suggest) energy efficiency strategies and upgrades to improve thermal performance of facilities.
Support the Director of Facilities in planning, budgeting, and executing capital improvement projects, including major mechanical upgrades, retrofits and the permitting process.
Provide technical guidance, review mechanical design documents, and coordinate with contractors and consultants throughout project execution.
Ensure all project work meets applicable codes, safety regulations, and operational requirements.
Supervise and mentor a team of multi-trade technicians and contractors across all hotel sites.
Conduct training on safe work procedures, equipment operation, and regulatory standards related to mechanical and building systems.
Promote a positive team culture built on accountability, safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Partner with Hotel Managers, Department Heads, and the Housing Experience Manager to prioritize maintenance efforts that impact guest and staff experience.
Liaise with commercial tenants to manage shared building systems and coordinate required maintenance or inspections
Act as a key technical resource for the Jasper Lodging leadership team.
Oversee procurement of tools, materials, and supplies for mechanical and maintenance operations, ensuring cost-efficiency and timely availability.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection logs, and system documentation to support compliance and reporting.
Utilize the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for tracking work orders, preventive maintenance, and asset histories.
Participate in the on-call rotation to respond to emergencies involving HVAC, gas, or other critical infrastructure.
Lead or support incident response efforts during mechanical failures, utility outages, environmental conditions impacting operations or general emergencies.
What skills and experience do you need for this job?:
Preference will be given to individuals with experience/knowledge in basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience maintaining a property of similar complexity and size.
Ability to multitask and effectively manage large workloads and changing demands.
Ability to work flexible hours; days, evening, weekends and participate in the ‘on call’ rotation.
Creative thinker and problem solver who takes initiative to complete tasks to Pursuit standards.
Self-starter who is able to work independently with minimal supervision.
A strong team player who will work well within a dynamic team and department.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
A valid 1st Aid Certificate is considered an asset.
Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License with clean driving abstract
