The primary function of these positions is to create, prepare and deliver developmentally appropriate, interesting and imaginative activities for the children attending our program. The successful candidate will be able to meet the needs of each individual as well as the needs of the group in their daily practice. It is essential for the individuals to have excellent interpersonal skills and work effectively within a dynamic, innovative team environment. Experience and/or training working with children with diverse needs is an asset. In addition, these individuals will spend a lot of time outside and fulfill some light housekeeping duties.These Summer Term positions begin on June 20, 2022, and will end on September 2, 2022.

Staff housing could be available for successful candidates.

Work performed:

Ensure safety and well-being of each child
Plan and implement a suitable program to ensure high quality care and to meet the needs of all children, utilizing clear and concise routines, rules, and limits
Engage positively and appropriately with children
Participate in all physical activities with the children including but not limited to; field trips, hiking, biking, sports and other activities.
Perform and be responsible for housekeeping tasks and all duties outlined in the daily shift requirements.
Ensure the safety and maintenance of the equipment and toys at all times.

Qualifications & Experience:
Your resume and cover letter must clearly describe how you meet the following qualifications:

Post-secondary education with a Level 1 – Early Childhood Educator certification from Alberta; or the ability to become certified within 6 months of beginning employment.
Valid Standard First Aid and CPR certification
Favourable Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector
Program planning and implementation
Excellent oral and written skills
Demonstrated leadership ability
Sound knowledge of child development
Ability to work in a confidential environment
Excellent team player
Ability to relate well to children, parents, colleagues and community
Compassion and humour
Demonstrated ability to supervise children

Contract length: 60 days

Salary: $19.17-$24.32 per hour

Rapid testing, masking, daily health screens at arrival for temperatures and symptoms before entering the program for the day.
