What will be your daily pursuit?:
The Sales Coordinator plays a key role in supporting all in-destination sales activities on behalf of the Pursuit Travel Trade & Affiliate sales teams in Jasper. They are responsible for coordinating, executing and reporting on FAMs & site inspections and lead the overall day-to-day sales activities with our affiliate and tour partners in the region. The primary focus is to ensure partners have what they need to be successful and to liaise with internal stakeholders and provide ideas to improve our processes to ensure the best possible guest experience for both our partners and guests.

The sales coordinator is responsible for overseeing the Pursuit familiarization (FAM) program for all products within the Pursuit collection, liaising with internal stakeholders, and partners to ensure our partners have the opportunity to experience the remarkable experiences we offer.

The ability to multitask, communicate effectively and work autonomously is required to be successful in this position, but a passion for building relationships both internally & externally and striving to have fun while doing that will be the most important aspect of this position! Taking lead in projects and bringing them to completion must also be part of your personality.

What will you do in this job?:
/ Build & maintain strong industry relationships with our partners within the territory – Jasper, Hinton & Valemount including, tour directors, Pursuit leaders and the Pursuit Sales Team

/ Share feedback from partners with Pursuit leaders and provide ideas and solutions on how to improve.

/ Responsible for the overall success and full life cycle of the Pursuit FAM program, including development, execution, and liaising with internal stakeholders and partners.

/ Conduct sales calls, familiarization (FAM) tours, site inspections, and product training sessions with partners, weekly and as required

/ Liaise closely with the Affiliate Sales Manager to ensure strategy and targets are aligned across Banff Jasper Collection

/ Participate in idea generation for sales activities and ways to increase sales and improve processes in order to exceed sales targets and provide exceptional service to our partners.

/ Promote Pursuit products during affiliate visits and selected regional events (i.e.: affiliate appreciation events, Open House Days, Canada Day, Pursuit local’s days, affiliates FAM)

/ Collect, track and input data on various measurables (statistics and reporting) as required

/ Prepare commission cheques and ensure they are delivered, in person to partners in a timely manner

/ Execute all work in a safe, professional manner in compliance with H&S and our Always Honest Policy

/ Stay up to date and report on the overall business climate, including updates on guests and competitive activities

/ Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date partner profiles in Delphi, Pursuit Collection’s CRM.

/ Other duties as required, including taking on special projects, supporting and assisting in other departments and functions when required

What skills and experience do you need for this job?:
/ A driver’s license is required for this role, which must be converted to an Alberta Class 5 driving license for insurance purposes (manual transmission an asset).

/ At least 2+ years experience working in sales, marketing or event management preferably in hospitality, restaurants or hotels is preferred

/ Energetic, enthusiastic, quick learner who sells their passion for Pursuit and its products

/ Excellent hospitality mindset and guest service skills, including dedicated service to both internal and external clients.

/ Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, with the ability to see multiple projects and tasks through to completion on a timely basis.

/ Comfortable speaking in public and to groups of various sizes on similar product topics.

/ Ability to work on a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends is required

/ Highly detail-oriented, with strong administration and organization skills.

/ Physical working environment with walking and stair climbing and standing required.

/ Experience with B2B sales and/or Tourism Travel Trade, including PMOs, DMOs, channels of distribution and key global partners is an asset

/ Knowledge of the tourism industry and local knowledge of the area - Bow Valley, Columbia Valley Golden & Jasper (an asset).

/ Knowledge of Salesforce, Delphi.fdc (CRM) is strongly preferred.

/ Resourceful, adaptable, resilient, and having a strong sense of self-awareness

/ Experience with Microsoft Office tools essential (eg.: Excel, Outlook, PPT, Word, Teams)

/ Takes initiative and be persistent in overcoming obstacles, all while exercising excellent judgement

/ Self-starter that has the confidence and ability to work independently and can think proactively

/ Demonstrate high levels of positive energy and a willingness to take on new challenges, responsibilities and assignments - strives to go beyond what is expected
