Assistant Manager Front Office

Full-Time – Seasonal (end date approximately November 4)

Property Overview:

Pine Bungalows is a unique property of 52 individual cabins & 16 hotel rooms, located on the banks of the Athabasca River in Jasper National Park. Pine Bungalows is located just minutes from downtown Jasper.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Rooms, responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

Leading and motivating the Front Office team – making sure policies/procedures are being followed, training the team on new procedures and coaching/development
Training new Front Office staff
Hands on position that involves working from the Front Desk (standing all shift)
Creating and maintaining a culture of exceptional guest service and accurate, detail-oriented front office administration
Communicating effectively with guests, staff and third parties
Assisting the Director of Rooms in ensuring all guest complaints and concerns are documented and resolved in a timely manner, ensuring guest satisfaction. Following up with appropriate departments to prevent reoccurrences and improve standards
Ensuring front office staff are trained in emergency situations and procedures. Leading by example in dealing with such circumstances
Organizing and maintaining front office records and equipment in accordance with hotel policies and ensuring compliance with any applicable legislation
Balance cash and day end reports
Work with minimal supervision
Clerical duties as required
Perform the duties of Front Desk Agent:
Welcome and register arriving guests
Process guest departures, calculate charges and receive payment
Process telephone calls and manage reservations
Provide guests with information on hotel facilities, services and local attractions and activities
Respond to all guest inquiries
Periodically deliver amenities to guests
Consistently offer professional and friendly service
Qualifications:

Prior Front Desk leadership experience preferred (or a suitable combination of Front Desk experience + leadership in a different area)
A commitment to upholding the highest standards in customer service
Organized and results oriented with proven time management skills and the ability to work under pressure
Effective organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Well-developed knowledge of front office and hotel operations
Experience with hotel property management systems and proficient in other assorted computer programmes, including Microsoft Office
A good sense of humour and an ability to deal with stressful situations in a calm and positive manner
Shifts:

· Full Time

· Approx. 40 hours/week based on seasonal demand

· Shift work – Day, Evening, Weekend

· Two consistent regular days off are almost always provided

Wage:

· Wage based on experience

· Cash Bonus Programs available

Staff Accommodation:

· Staff Accommodation is available on-site

Physical Aspects of the Position (include but are not limited to):

· Frequent standing and walking through shift

· Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting

· Must be able to carry and lift loads of up to 50lbs

· Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps

Visa Requirements:

· Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. We are unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization
