As the Maintenance Supervisor at one of Pursuit's Jasper properties, Chateau Jasper, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the maintenance of all physical structures which include but are not limited to the following: guest rooms, parking areas, utility rooms, , outdoor patios, pool, and spa. The goal of this position is to ensure the hotel premises are safe, functional and attractive and to ensure guests are receiving service that meets Pursuit's standards. The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee the day to day work assignments of maintenance team members by planning and assigning tasks, and monitoring work quality to ensure proper upkeep of all facilities while ensuring safety.

This is a full-time, regular position beginning June 2026.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise and manage all maintenance operations for the hotel property, ensuring safe, efficient, and well‑maintained facilities at all times
Coordinate daily maintenance activities with the Hotel Manager, Facilities Director, and other department leaders to minimize guest impact and support hotel operations
Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to Maintenance Workers, ensuring high standards of workmanship and service
Assume full responsibility for Maintenance Workers on assigned shifts, including performance oversight and task completion
Prepare weekly work schedules for Maintenance Workers and ensure adequate coverage, including weekends, holidays, and peak periods
Operate and maintain the maintenance tracking system, ensuring work orders, job assignments, and updates are accurate and timely
Participate in and support an on‑call rotation, responding to after‑hours maintenance emergencies as required
Assist with the maintenance, inspection, and upkeep of all Pursuit company vehicles
Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of all staff housing units; assist with staff housing needs as required
Assist in planning and coordinating property renovations, capital projects, and major repairs
Perform, track, and communicate preventative maintenance programs for guest rooms, public spaces, back‑of‑house areas, and building systems
Establish required daily and periodic inspections of all operating equipment and work‑in‑progress to ensure preventative maintenance quality and timely completion
Maintain accurate documentation through maintenance logs, work order systems, inspection reports, and compliance records
Maintain adequate inventory of materials, parts, tools, and equipment to support timely repairs; ensure inventory is organized, updated, and cost‑effective
Contact and coordinate external contractors for specialized maintenance and repair tasks when necessary
Prepare and execute seasonal opening and closing maintenance procedures
Ensure facilities, equipment, and personnel operate in conformity with all local, provincial, federal, and company regulations related to safety, building codes, sanitation, and life‑safety systems
Maintain AHS standards with pool and water testing
Maintain required sanitation and pest‑control programs to ensure compliance with health and NPS regulations
Conduct weekly walk‑around inspections of the entire property to identify safety hazards, maintenance issues, and operational concerns
Perform inventory of parts and tools used for repairs; ensure readiness for immediate maintenance needs
Coordinate with the laundry subcontractor when issues arise with laundry equipment
Coordinate master key and sub‑master key controls, ensuring proper par levels for guest rooms and employee housing
Attend and participate in weekly management meetings
Support payroll accuracy and labor control for the Maintenance Department
Assist with major repairs to guest rooms, mechanical systems, and other hotel facilities
Perform seasonal exterior maintenance including landscaping, snow removal, and parking lot cleaning
Maintain frequent interaction with coworkers, management, and guests in a professional and service‑oriented manner
Work closely with sister properties to offer advice and assistance when required
Report to the Director of Facilities and complete all projects and tasks as assigned
Other duties as assigned
ON‑CALL RESPONSIBILITIES

Participate in an on‑call rotation to respond to emergency maintenance issues outside of regular working hours
Assess, troubleshoot, and resolve urgent issues impacting guest safety, comfort, or hotel operations
Coordinate emergency repairs with external contractors when required
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a related maintenance or hotel engineering field, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, pool treatment, and painting
Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience overseeing employees with varied skill levels
Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of building systems
Experience with commercial kitchen equipment repair is an asset
Ability to perform administrative duties, including scheduling, documentation, and basic computer use
Knowledge of CMMS systems, email programs, and spreadsheets
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, large workloads, and tight timelines
Ability to read blueprints and technical documents
Knowledge of tools and their proper use (tools provided)
Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to think creatively and act decisively
Ability to work independently or as part of a team; self‑starter during off‑season periods
Commitment to safety, sanitation, and high‑quality maintenance standards
Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
Flexibility to work varied shifts (e.g., 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.) and participate in an on‑call rotation
Valid Alberta driver’s license required
Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to go the extra mile
