Description:
The Executive Director of Inpatient Services at Recovery Alberta is a key leader collaborating with medical leadership to execute strategic priorities aligned with provincial program goals and Recovery Alberta’s comprehensive plans. This role oversees the integration and management of essential inpatient services, including Child/Youth, Adult, and care for rural and remote populations, while fostering vital partnerships within Recovery Alberta. The Executive Director will work closely with other leaders to ensure that integrated inpatient programs enhance patient care and effectively engage with provincial teams to inform and shape strategy development and implementation. This position requires the establishment of an operational framework to support service delivery, involving the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategic service redesigns and clinical programs in partnership with physicians, ensuring ongoing alignment with Recovery Alberta’s objectives. The Executive Director will lead policy development to enhance service delivery and foster innovation by cultivating strong relationships across programs and with organizational leadership. Resource management is crucial; the Executive Director will work in partnership with operational and medical leadership to direct inpatient operations, manage human resources, and oversee succession planning. They will ensure the effective deployment of human resources in a safe, inclusive workplace while responsibly allocating fiscal and capital resources, managing budgets, and overseeing forecasting and expenditures. In relationship management, the Executive Director will build strong connections with both internal and external stakeholders, including community officials, while maintaining strategic partnerships with Recovery Alberta leadership to advance shared objectives in inpatient care.

Required Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. A minimum of seven years in a management role in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:
Progressive leadership experience in primary healthcare over the past seven years.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Inpatient mental health settings preferred, including hospital based or acute care environments. A Master’s Degree in a health discipline preferred.
