Job Details:
• Salary $15.56 /Hour to start (this is a unionized position. Increments at 4th month to $15.81 and at 8th month to $17.60)
• Terms of employment: Permanent, Full time 32 to 40 Hours / Week ; part-time also available for those who required
• Start date: As soon as possible
• Employment conditions: Overtime, Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Shift, Weekend, Night
• Benefits: Group insurance benefits are available on the first day of the month following 3 months of employment (short term & Long Term Disability, vision, Medical, Massage, Chiro, Life, accidental death and dismemberment); Dental benefits are available after 1 year of employment; After 6 months of employment will qualify to enroll in a defined contribution Pension plan; 2 weeks paid vacation; All employees have access to discounted hotel stay within North & central America based on availability, friends and family are also provided a discount; staff accommodation is available for a cost to the employee subjected to conditions

Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Housekeeping, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
• Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service;
• Follow departmental policies, procedures and service standards;
• Clean a section of 12- 15 guest rooms per day as per Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge standards;
• Maintain condition and cleanliness of guest rooms and their surroundings within section, for example: corridor, patio, grounds;
• Clean, disinfect and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances,
• Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors, Dust furniture, Vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies and upholstered furniture;
• Ensure that all recycling is undertaken on a daily basis; Pick up debris and empty trash containers;
• Clean and stock linen closet at the end of the shift;
• Report any maintenance defects in guest rooms and their surrounding areas to housekeeping;
• Provide night service (refresh rooms in the evening) when required; Following all safety and sanitation policies;
• Adhere to the Hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles, if applicable;
• Make beds and change sheets;
• Distribute clean towels and toiletries;
• Stock linen closet;
• Clean and disinfect elevators;
• Handle and report lost and found items,
• Attend to guests' requests for extra supplies or other items;
Provide basic information on facilities;
• Wash windows, walls and ceilings,
• Clean changing rooms and showers,
• Address customers' complaints or concerns

 Qualifications:
• Previous experience in housekeeping an asset
• No formal education is required
• Valid Alberta drivers license an asset
• Strong physical condition required
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

Walking: 2-8 hr/day
• Standing: 5-8 hr/day
• Bending/reaching: 4-8 hr/day
• Pushing/pulling: 4-8 hr/day
• Physical effort: required to lift up to 50 lbs; constant repetitive motion
• Environmental Stress: Medium-Working Outdoors, Chemical use

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
