What will be your daily pursuit?:

What will you do in this job?:
The Accounting Clerk is as a key member of our extremely collaborative team. This individual will primarily be responsible for cash controls. Additionally, this role will contribute to all processes within the Accounting Department and more broadly across Hotel Operations. The ideal candidate for this role has excellent organization skills, attention to detail, tech competency and is comfortable with working in a confidential environment, engaging with hotel guests, and supporting the greater team.

Collection and reconciliation of cash deposits
Verify and balance all daily credit card deposits
Ensure that prescribed security measures are adhered to while handling company funds
Calculate and keep record of cash overages / shortages
Maintain tracking for all miscellaneous check deposits
Process cash / coin replenishment requests
Maintain all petty cash balances, completing monthly reconciliations and journal entries as needed
Process and track server due backs and tip outs
Assist in preparing daily audit packs and close out processes
Prepare reporting for monthly cash on hand reconciliations
Escalate cash variances, discrepancies, or other concerns when appropriate
Scanning and filing internal documents
Other responsibilities and special projects as assigned
What skills and experience do you need for this job?:
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Grade 12 Diploma combined with previous accounting or front desk experience an asset
Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving abstract
Working knowledge of various computer software, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Enjoy working as part of a team
Able to work in a confidential environment
Comfortable taking direction and work with minimum supervision

Ability to make decisions, solve problems and exercise good judgment
Strong commitment to building positive working relationships
