Job Description

Room Attendant

Are you new to working in the hospitality industry? Do you have exceptional cleaning skills and enjoy creating special moments for those around you?

Housekeeping is a great way to learn the heart of the hotel and to gain experience with our room’s inventory for career development into our front of house Rooms Division!

As a Housekeeping Room Attendant at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, a luxury brand under Accor, you will take ownership of guest rooms, ensuring that our guests are provided with a clean, comfortable space, and be a part of creating a memorable experience for them.

Rate of Pay: Starting wage $16.56 per hour, 6 month increase $16.83, 1 year increase $18.71. Wages are reviewed bi-annually per collective agreement

Status: While we are trying to fill Full Time positions 30-44 hours per week, we will be accepting Casual and Seasonal availability

Language of Work: English

What you will be doing:

Consistently offer a professional, engaging and friendly service
Maintain condition and cleanliness of guest rooms and their surroundings within section, for example: corridor, patio, grounds
Provide night service (refresh rooms in the evening) when required
Making beds, changing sheets and towels
Cleaning washroom facilities including toilets, bathtubs, sinks, mirrors, floors, bathroom fixtures and others as assigned
Vacuuming floors, draperies and upholstered furniture
Dusting of furniture and fixtures
Stock guest room amenities
Removal and sorting of linen, garbage and recycling
Assist guests with concerns and requests in a timely manner
Placing furniture to its original position and being attentive to the guests belongings by pairing shoes, folding clothes and ensuring that all other personal belongings are cared for.
Comply with all department policies, procedures, and service standards
Follow and proactively promote all health and safety policies and initiatives
Report all concerns related to Engineering/Maintenance, health and safety, security or suspicious circumstances (including smells/sights and sound)
Responsible for the assistance in maintaining a clean and organized backspace and housekeeping cart.
All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

Warm and caring personality
Ability to anticipate and focus attention on guest needs, being professional and welcoming
Excellent organizational skills and time management
Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
No formal education/experience required
Prior cleaning experience an asset
Physically fit as you will be standing and walking throughout shift
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast past environment
Able to bend and kneel with comfort
Housekeeping is a very physically demanding position. Duties include repetitive bending, pulling, carrying, high lifting and heavy pushing (up to 50bs.)
As Jasper Park Lodge is cabins spread out across the large property, you will be exposed to weather elements while cleaning each cabin

Additional Information

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
