Job Description

Student Work Experience Program (SWEP) - Spring/Summer 2024

Combine valuable work experience with an energetic, fun lifestyle! If you are talented, motivated and enrolled in a hospitality, tourism, golf operations, turf management, culinary or hotel and restaurant management program, our fall student positions are your opportunity to relate your classroom study to the day-to-day operations of Canada’s most breathtaking resorts.

Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is now recruiting for the following student opportunities:

Barista
Food Porter/Busperson
Host/Hostess
Server
Guest Service Agent
Royal Services Agent
General Cook/Second Cook
Housekeeping - Room Attendant/ Houseperson/ Public Areas Houseperson
Laundry Attendant
Stewarding Attendant (Kitchen Dishwasher)
Golf Operations (Guest Service, Retail & Cart Attendant)
Turf Care - Greenskeeper
Successful applicants will be matched to available positions based on previous relevant work experience, area of studies and the hotel’s operational requirements.

Qualifications

Food & Beverage Positions

Currently enrolled in a hospitality, tourism or hotel and restaurant management program
Must have ProServe certification
Previous Food & Beverage experience preferred
Room Division Positions

Currently enrolled in a hospitality, tourism or hotel and restaurant management program
Previous front office/reservations/ hospitality/housekeeping experience preferred
Previous Property Manager (Opera) experience an asset
Culinary Division Positions

Currently enrolled in a culinary program
Previous experience as a cook an asset
Must be able to lift, carry and pull up to 50lbs
Standing and walking throughout shift and exposure to kitchen equipment including large and small ovens, stoves, steam kettles, mixers, sheeter, fryers, rational ovens, steamers, tilt skillets, fridges and freezers as well as blast freezers
Housekeeping/ Stewarding Division Positions:

Currently enrolled in a hospitality, tourism or hotel and restaurant management program
Previous similar experience an asset
Must be physically fit and able to stand and walk throughout shift and lift, carry and pull up to 50+lbs.
Golf Operations / Turf Care Postions:

Currently enrolled in a Golf Operations /Turf Care management program
Previous similar experience an asset
Must be physically fit and able to stand and walk throughout shift and lift, carry and pull up to 50+lbs.

Additional Information

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
