Overview

The Pederson Group has been retained to conduct a search for a Sales Agronomist to join our client's growing team. This position is home office–based and requires the successful candidate to reside in Alberta to effectively serve the Red Deer North region.

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the Sales Agronomist will work in close cooperation with the other team members to actively pursue opportunities to position our client’s crop nutrition solutions through meeting with retailers, consultants, setting up demonstration trials, attending or organizing field days, trade shows and farmer meetings, as well as bring farmer and retail insight into the development of new products and services.

Duties

Develop relationships with customers and determine needs through demonstrated sales skills.
Drive sales by creating demand at the retail and farmer level and execute on the business plan in the defined territory.
Be a resource and provide presence for our client's crop nutrition programs and products at the retail and local level as well as at the farm level.
Plan and execute demonstration trials, collect data and organize field events in collaboration with retailers and farmers.
Collaborate with territory team members to enhance customer engagement and achieve sales objectives.
Maintain and populate a CRM database to capture market knowledge and the relevance of crop solutions.
Work closely with Market Development, Marketing, Product Management and Digital teams to execute crop-specific business strategies.
Provide information on crop nutrition and biological trends as far as crops, customers, digital and competitor activity to support new product and strategy development.
Generate insights on farmer practices, create content for digital promotion and foster engagement with farmers and retailers
Create content such as newsletters, blogs and technical pieces for communication and promotion.
