Position Title: Mining Maintenance Manager

Location: Fort McMurray, AB | Monday–Friday (5x2) | Full-Time, Permanent

Position Overview

Our client, a major organization with a strong presence in Alberta’s mining sector is seeking a Mining Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced leader with strong mobile fleet expertise to take ownership of large-scale mining maintenance programs and drive continuous improvement across site operations.

This role will require a strategic yet hands-on leader, capable of balancing production goals with safety, reliability, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide visible, proactive leadership to the mine site maintenance team.
Oversee the maintenance and reliability of a large mobile fleet, including haul trucks, dozers, loaders, shovels, and support equipment.
Design and execute strategic maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and availability.
Collaborate closely with production, planning, and reliability teams to align maintenance activities with production goals.
Drive innovation through the use of technology, automation, and predictive maintenance systems.
Track KPIs, analyze operational trends, and implement cost-saving initiatives.
Foster a strong safety-first culture across all maintenance activities.
Develop and mentor a team of engineers, supervisors, and skilled trades personnel.
Qualifications & Experience:

Degree in engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 10 years of mining operations experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing maintenance teams.
Proven experience managing maintenance for mobile mining fleets at a producing mine.
Strong knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements in mining.
Demonstrated success in team leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder management.
Experience with maintenance planning systems, CMMS software, and reliability tools.
A proactive, collaborative mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
