Our team works with clients across construction, manufacturing, agriculture, non-profit, and childcare sectors, providing practical support through ongoing retainers and project-based work. We’re searching for a full-time Human Resources Consultant to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll help businesses build strong, compliant, and people-focused systems that support growth, safety, and culture. Our Consultants are trusted partners who thrive in dynamic environments and deliver practical, high-quality solutions that make a difference for our clients and their teams. While HR Advantage is based in Fort Macleod, Alberta, we recognize the value of flexibility and the diverse talent located across Alberta. This position is fully remote and can be based anywhere in Southern Alberta, with occasional travel (1-3 Days/Month) to client sites as needed. What You’ll Do As an HR Consultant at HR Advantage, you’ll partner directly with clients to design, build, and implement practical HR and health and safety systems that align with both best practices and legislative requirements. Many of our clients are growing organizations that don’t yet have established programs in place, so you’ll have the opportunity to create foundational systems that truly make an impact. You’ll work independently and collaboratively to deliver a range of services, including: Developing and implementing HR and health and safety policies, programs, and procedures tailored to client needs Supporting clients through COR audits, gap analyses, and system development to meet audit standards and industry best practice Conducting workplace investigations, managing employee relations issues, and providing professional HR guidance to client leaders Assisting with incident management, hazard assessments, and the development of corrective actions and safe work practices Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and performance management processes Providing training and guidance to supervisors and employees on HR and H&S topics Contributing to the design of client-specific tools, such as handbooks, forms, and templates that strengthen compliance and culture Payroll or HR system implementation, including ongoing processing of payroll and implementing system improvements What You’ll Bring You’ll bring experience in at least one of human resources or health and safety and a genuine interest in growing your expertise across both areas. Our consultants often work fluidly between disciplines, supporting clients with everything from compliance and culture to safety systems and employee relations. Qualifications/Experience 3 to 5 years of experience within human resources or health and safety, either as a senior-level Coordinator, Advisor, Business Partner, or Consultant Post-secondary education in a related field (business administration, human resources, psychology, health and safety, etc.) Designation in a related field, such as Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR), Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP), or Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) is considered a strong asset Exposure to payroll administration is a significant asset Working knowledge of HRIS and payroll systems such as ADP, Dayforce, QuickBooks Online, or BambooHR Experience managing multiple, dynamic projects with shifting priorities Strong understanding of Alberta and/or British Columbia employment and occupational health and safety legislation Skills and Traits Exceptional attention to detail and organization Ability to work independently and take initiative Agile and adaptable with strong problem-solving skills; ability to think critically is essential High professional standards and commitment to accuracy and follow-through Excellent communication skills and relationship-building abilities Technical Skills Superior proficiency with Google Suite (e.g. Google Docs, Google Drive) and Microsoft Office (SharePoint) is required Experience with Asana or other CRM tools is an asset What’s In It For You At HR Advantage, we take pride in creating a workplace that supports both professional excellence and personal balance.
