Job Title: Prep Cook/ Sandwich Maker

We are very much a family affair at Patricia Street Deli. We expect to be busier this autumn and winter than in previous years so we would like to welcome you to apply for our part-time/flex time position. We work between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00 during the slow season and usually have one to two people working.

Our shifts are very flexible and we can accommodate your other jobs or responsibilities. We appreciate experienced kitchen workers and we also enjoy teaching and we are very receptive to the creativities of our team in contributing menu ideas. We make most food items in house.

We hope to find someone who will continue on with us on a permanent basis and grow with us.

You will be making soups, preparing foods for service during the day, and greeting and preparing our famous sandwiches.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and measuring ingredients
- Prepare and portion food items according to recipes and quality standards
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to ensure a clean and sanitary work environment
- Maintain inventory of food supplies and notify the supervisor when items are running low
- Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment after each use
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and efficient food preparation
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries of food products

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a prep cook or similar role in a restaurant or food service establishment
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling techniques
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality standards
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
